Kucharczyk (BVM Racing) leads free practice

Tymek Kucharchzyk has been the fastest in the free practice day at the revamped Hungaroring ahead of the fourth round of the season. The day started with the same extremely hot weather encountered yesterday but conditions changed towards more bearable temperatures in the afternoon.

The Polish driver of BVM Racing set a time of 1.35.552 in the morning session (before being stopped throughout the entire second session by a brake issue), beating Motopark’s Joss Garfias by 0s326 and the Nielsen Racing duo of Shawn Rashid and Ed Pearson by 0s424 and 0s592, respectively.

In fifth Michael Shin (Motopark), 0s712 off with what was the best lap time in session 2 (1.36.264), ahead of championship leader Yevan David (Motopark, +0s713) and local hero Benjamin Berta (Motopark, +0s771). For his return to the series, the Hungarian progressed well throughout the sessions, resulting the seond-fastest driver on track in the afternoon.


The second session was red-flagged when Finn Green (Nielsen Racing) hit heavily the barriers at the exit of turn 11, without no personal damage for the British driver, who was released rapidly released from the medical center.
